No, there’s no evidence supporting ivermectin
Today I learned that virtually the entire evidence in favor of ivermectin came from a single debunked study — a study that, unfortunately, was then used in later meta-analyses.
It was full of fake records, copy-and-paste chunks of press releases, and a host of other problems, and has since been withdrawn.
So it ticks me off when I hear “Well, the jury is out” — because that’s nonsense. You can say “the jury is out” for any made-up Covid treatment: castor oil, grass clippings, papaya juice … or ivermectin. “There’s no evidence” is not the same as “Well, it might work.”
