Myrtle Beach capitalizes on global warming

Published September 9, 2012

I heard a commercial on the radio this morning from the Myrtle Beach (S.C.) tourism group or association or whatever. It was trying to convince people to come to the beach even as we head into fall. The hook: “Warmer ocean waters.”

Kudos to them, I guess, for finding the silver lining in climate change and warmer water. We’ll just conveniently forget the fact that warmer water = bigger hurricanes. Or maybe South Carolina will take its northern cousin’s tack and simply outlaw global warming. That’ll fix it.
