Pat Robertson: Open mouth, begin spew

Published 1/3/07

Pat Robertson, who apparently continues to mistake the voices he hears in his head for God, has declared that God has told him there will be a terrorist attack on the US in 2007.

Can this guy even see the deep end in his rearview mirror? If there’s ever a candidate for going to Hell, it’s Robertson — I suspect that, if God is anything like Robertson believes, He won’t be happy about Pat’s not only taking His name in vain, but using it to lie to people.

And from the story comes this gem:

In 2005, Robertson predicted that Bush would have victory after victory in his second term. He said Social Security reform proposals would be approved and Bush would nominate conservative judges to federal courts.

Lawmakers confirmed Bush’s 2005 nominations of John Roberts and Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. But the president’s Social Security initiative was stalled.

“I have a relatively good track record,” he said. “Sometimes I miss.”

Wait wait wait. Sometimes you miss? You said you heard the word of God. Are you saying God was wrong? Are you saying you misheard God? How is that possible — the guy who created the entire universe what, didn’t speak loudly enough for you?

Or maybe you’re just a narrow-minded bigoted idiot, liar, and blasphemer.

I think you’re 5 for 5 there. Pat Robertson is in fact narrow-minded, he is a bigot, an idiot, a liar, and a blasphemer. I prayed to God just now and God told me that Pat Robertson is a moron.

Pat Robertson provides me with much comedy. But it is truly sad that people actually listen to him and believe him. Not to mention they send him money. When will it end?

Andy, andy, andy. This so should have been a video. I wanted to see your expression when you say that “Wait wait wait” paragraph. You are truly the bomb.

wifey won’t even let me turn ol’ pat’s show on even though I only watch for its comedic value – funnier than a lot of sitcoms. it is interesting that it comes on right after ‘whose line…’, huh?

yet I can’t help thinking of his crap as a form of terrorism at the same time. he keeps so many people shaking in their shoes it’s scary. those poor clones who believe his tripe are perhaps sadder than he is.

the afa is just as bad, but I think they don’t get as much airtime.

Yeah, I saw the article up on cnn.com and thought the same thing. Missed? The Almighty, all powerful, all knowing, missed? Ummmmm….no.

Hank Carr says:

I see a distinct parallel between the likes of Pat Robertson and the religious extremists in the Muslim world. He perverts the teachings of the religion to prey on the ignorant, he issues Fatwas against world leaders (Chavez), and he rails against people who do things in the privacy of their own worlds and far away from him that don’t effect him in any way. It astounds me how many people are stupid enough to buy into his lies, his prejudices, and his lunacy.

He and his ilk scare me.

Hank.
