The dollar coin has been tried and failed several times now. The people in charge simply won’t make it substantially larger then a quarter. People don’t want to have to look that hard at their money.

At least the new ones are gold, as opposed to those silly SBAs. Instead of larger, I wish they would make them octagons. That way they wouldn’t weigh me down, but I could instantly tell the difference.
